Collaboration

The Hives finished recording vocals and guitars in late November 2006 for a song titled "Throw It On Me", a collaboration with Timbaland's hip-hop producer. The song is included in the album, Timbaland Presents Shock Value , released on April 3, 2007. They also appeared in the music video for the song. The Hives also recently talked about a collaboration with Jack White's Raconteurs on a song for their new album, originally titled "Footsteps", but it was later revealed that Howlin 'Pelle literally recorded footsteps. Howlin 'Pelle also collaborated with Swedish rock artist Moneybrother, a cover of Operation Ivy's "Freeze Up" song. They use Swedish lyrics and call it " Jag skriver inte pÃÆ'  ¥ nÃÆ'  t, ", which translates as "I Won t Sign Anything ".

Band members contributed to "Time For Some Action" and "Windows" on N.E.R.D.'s "Seeing Sounds" album, with Pelle Almqvist providing guest vocals in "Time For Some Action". At Viewing Sounds they are credited with their real name, not the pseudonym they use in the band.

Styles and performance on stage

All songwriting except the cover on the band's album is credited to "Randy Fitzsimmons". The band claims Fitzsimmons is the sixth "Hive" honor, who along with writing their music, finds and manages the band. Randy Fitzsimmons is a registered alias for Niklas Almqvist.

The Hives live show has received high ratings, Spin magazine gave them the 8th best ranking in rock music. Pelle is known for his "colorful stupidity" on stage. When asked about their efforts to connect with the audience, Chris Dangerous replied that "there are so many bands out there who do not say a word to the crowd, I do not understand, they do not even see the audience and that's ridiculous." The Hives always wear black and white uniforms because "it makes [them] look like [they] belong together".
