Charles W. Flanagan High School opened its doors in 1996 as a junior high school in Pembroke Pines, Florida. Flanagan High School is located near Broward County's C. Smith Park and Walter C. Young Middle School and Resource Center.
Registration Flanagan is now just over 3000. This school is used to operate with block schedule with four periods in one day, each period about 90 minutes. In the academic year 2016-2017, Flanagan High School dropped this schedule and took a more cost-effective schedule provided by the Broward County School Board. The Flanagan High School is shown as "1000 high schools in the country" by Newsweek based on statistics like Advanced Placement registrations.
Flanagan has a Comprehensive Florida Assessment (FSA) "A" test class for the academic year 2016-2017.

Events and awards
Color Guard won the World Championships
The World Guardian Flanagan High School was named WGI Scholastic 2008 and 2012 WGI World Champion after competing at the WGI World Championships in Dayton, Ohio and beating all other competitors in their division. In 2008 they performed their "Post Secret" based on the community mail art project, PostSecret, earning a score of 96.9. They became the first color guardians in Florida to be crowned champions of World Class Scholasticism. In 2012, they again won the Scholastic World Championship title with their show "Project Innocence", originally from the Innocence Project, earning 95.5. That year they also became the first Scholastic World Guard to bring home Favorite Fan Recognition in Dayton, Ohio at the WGI World Championships 2012.
In 2009 and 2011, the Flanagan World Guard received a Bronze Medal at the World Championships. Recently, the Flanagan World Guard won a Silver Medal in 2013.
The Flanagan World Guard has also won the South Winter Keeping Association Winter Championship every year since their promotion to the World Class in 2003
The wind orchestra won the Grand National Champions
The Flanagan High School Wind Orchestra competes at the Grand National Adjudicators Invitational, in Chattanooga, Tennessee. The Flanagan Wind Orchestra was awarded the highest award of the Grand Champion, and was recognized with an "Honor Award" for outstanding achievements as a winning group. Flanagan also received "Judge's Award" in recognition of Outstanding Woodwinds and Percussion in Concert Performance. This is the first year of the ensemble attending the Grand NAI. The Flanagan Wind Orchestra has previously won an Invitational National Adjudicator in Washington, DC.
National Champion NJROTC Unit
Flanagan High School is the 2007 national champion of the National Academic, Athletics, and National Championship Championships NJROTC. The Flanagan NJROTC Competition Team beat the 10-hour Flour Bluff national champion from Corpus Christi, Texas. In 2012, NJROTC High School Competition Team Flanagan won the NJROTC National Championship (led by C/Cmdr Carlos Mongui), then in 2013 reached the championship back to back by winning the first US Navy national championship competition.
