Bernard Gallay (born November 7, 1959) is a French cruiser and entrepreneur Franco-Swiss. He has competed in Vendà © Globe twice (1992/93 and 2000/01) and ended his career as a professional seaman while participating in Transat 6.50 in 2005. In 1994 he moved to Montpellier in South France and founded Bernard Gallay Yacht Broker. He still competes in amateur races like Les Voiles de Saint-Tropez (formerly known as La Nioulargue) and Rolex Middle Sea Race.

Biography

Bernard Gallay was born in Paris.

Rugby

He is a former member of the French Junior Team and the French Military Team in Joinville. He also played the Rugby First Division for Racing Club de France from 1980 to 1983.

Sailing

In 1981, he began sailing by starting a sailing vessel Faram Serenissima at short notice for the Twostar Race, which resulted in a poor shipwreck on his return leg. The following year in 1982, again in a short time, he embarked on the Atlantic crossing on the Sea Falcon ship, the sailor boat and the English navigator Sir Robin Knox-Johnston.

Yacht Brokerage

The BGYB brand and the yacht brokerage firm were created by long-term friends Bernard Gallay and Philippe Meylan in 1994. Through the development of their yacht brokerage business extend their friendship and each contribute something different when starting the company. Bernard Gallay, through his sailing experience, knowledge of cruises and full-time involvement and Philippe Meylan through his legal background and capacity as a trusted advisor. In 1996, after two years of operation, BGYB became a member of the famous Ocean Broker Yacht Association (MYBA). MYBA is an associate of yacht yachts' in the Mediterranean and belongs to the largest international brokerage firm in the world. Contracts and practices have become the standard for the professional world of the cruise industry. BGYB's reputation is acquired through purchases and sales, charter and management of motor yachts, sailing and racing. Boats sold range from 18 to 50 meters for budgets ranging from several hundred thousand to several million Euros.
